Projection Art Festival to Light Up Panama City
Panama City, FL – July 30, 2018 – Historic Downtown Panama City will once again be the canvas for the annual Public Eye Soar. From November 9 – 10, the streets of Panama City will come alive with light, sound and art for this projection art festival. Featuring live performances, hands-on activities, short films, projection art and photography from across the globe, Public Eye Soar is a unique opportunity to see art on a new scale.
“Historic Downtown Panama City is the area’s art and theatre district and provides the perfect backdrop for this event,” said Jennifer Vigil, president and CEO of Destination Panama City. “We’re happy to sponsor this event that highlights our community’s passion for the arts.”
This year’s festival will spotlight the work of more than 130 artists from across the country as well as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg. Each artist’s work will be projected on the historic buildings of downtown Panama City.
“Our mission is to share art in all of its forms, in unexpected places and in ways that delight, surprise, educate and inspire people,” said Margaret Webster, co-organizer of Public Eye Soar. “We’ll be projecting art on buildings like the Panama City Center for the Arts and commercial warehouses.”
Interact and create your own works of art by playing the laser drums – a drum kit that converts your beats into a laser show – playing a larger-than-life pinball game, putting on your own shadow puppet show or by showing off your skills in sand art. Also, enjoy live art demonstrations and musical performances.
This event is free, and fun for the whole family. For more information, visit www.publiceyesoar.net
