A class on creative seeing. Each week we’ll sharpen your eye by honing in on a different element of composition: perspective, framing, line, shape, pattern, texture, color, balance and symmetry. The goal is to be more intentional in your photography – seeing good composition faster,  making the photo rather than taking it. Examples for inspiration, in-class shooting, weekly assignments and critiques will help you pull it all together into remarkable photos.

SPEAKER SERIES: Gary Monroe

Fri, January 25   |   7:30 PM

Introducing people to the world of Outsider art, this vivid PowerPoint-assisted lecture focuses on art that has been created by uninitiated artists who are distinguished by their idiosyncrasies and wild visions. Their works fly in the face of traditional art-making and is guaranteed to shake long-standing foundations. In recent years, Outsider art has been co-opted into the museum culture, thereby altering our views about the nature of art and aesthetics. In this presentation, Mr. Monroe introduces twelve remarkable self- taught Florida artists, while exposing the ideas which led to their renegade creations.

Support for the Speaker Series is provided by a grant from the Florida Humanities Council with funds from the Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs.

Presented by Bay Arts Alliance at Panama City Center for the Arts.

David Seering, who is recognized as one of the most versatile entertainers in America. David’s music journey began at the age of three when he started playing piano and singing by ear, only to evolve into a style of his own.

His ability takes him from behind the piano as a marvelous solo pianist and vocalist, to commanding a stage as a remarkable entertainer with a 16 piece orchestra as his back up.

David’s career has taken him from being the lead vocalist for the United States Armed Forces Band to performing with such notable groups as the USC Symphony Orchestra, The Tulsa Pops Orchestra, The Lovell Ives Orchestra, as well as the Atlanta Pops Orchestra. David has performed by invitation for two US Presidents, Jimmy Carter, and Ronald Reagan, as well as Georgia Governor Joe Frank Harris, and Louisiana Governor Mike Foster.

“I’ve been honored to share my stage with entertainers such as Mickey Gilly, BJ Thomas, Helen Ready, TG Shepard, Phyllis Diller, Mickey Rooney, and the Great Cab Calloway just to name a few.”

David also gives much of his time and talent to several charitable organizations including NW Florida Children in Crisis, NW Florida Children’s Advocacy Center, Walton County Sheriff’s Posse, and the North East Wisconsin Cerebral Palsy Telethon of which he has hosted for over 25 years.

ANTONY & CLEOPATRA

TAMING OF THE SHREW

KING LEAR
