BAY COUNTY — Bay County transportation officials are shifting gears to fight food insecurity. Bay Town Trolley has partnered with Feeding the Gulf Coast for the “Drive Out Hunger” initiative, setting up food donation boxes throughout the county. The initiative was started last year and gathered enough food and money to donate 26,000 meals to families in need. The donation boxes will be available through June 10, with the goal being to support those struggling in the community and assist with the increased food need leading into the summer months and hurricane season.
