BAY COUNTY Fla. (WMBB) – The Alzheimer’s Association is hitting the road for its ‘Brain Bus’ tour. The educational effort began in downtown Panama City on Thursday. Over six million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s. Of those, 580,000 living in Florida. “In every 65 seconds, someone is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s,” the association’s program manager Rob Harris said.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)– Calling all teens! The City of Panama City’s Quality of Life Department is teaming up with the Bay Arts Alliance and Palmetto Paint PC to host a Teen Paint Night. Admission is and all supplies are provided to attendees. Teens will learn how to do a step-by-step canvas from a local artist. The theme for this month is, “A pot of gold” in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – The Kiwanis Club of Panama City is brining back a staple fundraiser – Pancake Days. The club said they haven’t done it since Hurricane Michael in 2018. This year’s fundraiser is March 31 – April 2 at Forest Park United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, located at the corner of Lisenby Avenue and 23rd Street.

Former FSU quarterback and alumni Charlie Ward was one of the featured guests at the ‘Engage’ event. It was hosted by DevotioNOLES, a Christian-based student organization in conjunction with Collide College Ministry.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – The Panama City Coca-Cola Bottling Company celebrated the grand opening of its new facility. This is expected to be a huge boost for counties in the area. “So when we built this place, it was with the thought again of 10, 15 years down the road,” Paul Corbin, Sales Center Manager of Panama City, said. “Today if we’re doing three million cases, this facility can handle five, six million cases and not miss a beat.” This new facility will create more than 80 new jobs and cost $10 million to build.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Around 40 people dressed up in green, donned Irish hats and walked around St. Andrews for the annual St. Patrick’s pub crawl. Restaurants and bars like Uncle Ernie’s, Salty Hobo and Finns participated in the pub crawl. Attendees said hundreds of people have participated in the Pub Crawl in prior years.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — The Panama City Publishing Company Museum is celebrating Women’s History Month with a special exhibit. It features women in Florida who made significant contributions to society that may have been forgotten. The exhibit includes native and Spanish women from the 1500s, to Floridians pioneering change in the 1960s.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Downtown Panama City made its streets a bit more colorful this weekend. Bay Arts Alliance hosted its second annual Florida Luxe Arts Festival at Destination Panama City on Saturday. Everyone was welcome, free of charge. Chalking up the concrete and face painting were a couple of activities offered to the public.

The FLluxe Art Festival is taking over Downtown Panama City and allowing artists to decorate the streets with beautiful chalk artwork.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – On Thursday around 4 PM people gathered at City Hall to honor and remember some of the women that helped shaped Panama City. The Panama City Quality of Life Department put together an exhibit of twenty-six women that have shaped the City of Panama City and the surrounding area. The showcase’s opening on Thursday afternoon featured remarks from the honored women and their families. The theme for the inaugural event was hope.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) -Most little girls dream of being a princess, and in one local pageant every girl is. “My pageant is a little bit unique, said Princesses of Paradise Pageant founder Mia Bennett. “It’s completely free to sign up and to participate.” Mia Bennett was just 12 when she won her first pageant title, Jr. Teen Miss Freeport. Part of her duties included participating in the Seaside Fourth of July parade.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Multiple parks across Panama City are getting much-needed updates. Most of these outdoor locations were ruined in Hurricane Michael, leaving limited places for the community to gather. Panama City’s Quality of Life Director, Sean DePalma, said crews are actively working on rebuilding Sudduth Park in The Cove.
