PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Le Cirque de Noir: Pandora’s Box of Curiosities is an aerial performance inspired by the old-time circus. After more than a year of planning, the show made its debut in Panama City. “Old-time circus and really just wanting to tell that story and really wanting to experience that story for me,” show creator Misty Hunt said. The show featured fire eaters, siamese twins, fortune tellers, and clowns, all performing elaborate aerial routines.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Entering into Downtown Panama City you’ll see a freshly painted wall on the side of Ocean Oriental Market, a project that was made possible through a group effort from many organizations in Downtown Panama City.

PANAMA CITY — One glance at the art of teacher Dana McBee and you’ll understand why she considers the act of creating a fun adventure. “I like to expose my students to different artists, cultures, styles and mediums, and I prefer teaching the younger students, because they are not worried about making mistakes,” McBee said. “It’s all fun and an adventure. Just what art should be.”

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — After two and a half years, the Bay County Fairgrounds has reopened their Farmers Market in a brand new 21 thousand square foot facility. Hurricane Michael devastated the fairgrounds in 2018, but on Monday, the farmers market opened once again, and fair managers said it’s just the start of all that’s to come at the fairgrounds.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — At the Center for the Arts in Panama City, a brand new sign has finally been put up on the front of the building, after a two and a half year wait. The new sign, put up on Monday by Crow Signs, adds to the butterfly mural on the wall, painted last year by artist, Cameron Moberg.

PANAMA CITY — The Bay Arts Alliance mural program continues to grow, as Atlanta-based artist George F. Baker III started work on a new mural in downtown Panama City on March 29. His mural, “Keep Dancing,” is on the side of the Edward Jones Building, 470 Grace Ave., which faces the Bagel Maker. The wall will feature several colorful figures dancing with abandon to music from a record player.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)–Those entering Downtown Panama City will soon be welcomed by a wall full of murals known as the “Welcome Wall”. The mural is located on the side of the Ocean Oriental Market and will feature the work of 8 artists. The second mural artist is starting his painting this week.

PANAMA CITY — Those “Wild-Eyed Southern Boys” will be rocking downtown Panama City on the waterside this weekend. Scamp Entertainment, the promotion company behind the “Survivors” concerts of the past two years, will bring music legend .38 Special to the natural amphitheater at 300 Luverne Ave., using a stage specially designed for the venue.

PANAMA CITY Fla. (WMBB) — After years of planning, The City of Panama City and The St. Joe Company held a groundbreaking for the marina hotel and restaurant. Leaders from across Bay County came to celebrate the launch of “Hotel Indigo” and the economic boost it will bring to downtown.

Fodor’s Travel – Walking into the old Florida-style building known as Hunt’s Seafood and Oyster Bar, the first thing you see is an aluminum-covered bar with a young man grinning as he shucks oysters at preternatural speed. His name is Honor Allen and he is just 26 years old but has already captured three consecutive Florida Seafood Festival and U.S. Oyster Festival titles as the fastest oyster shucker around, an entry requirement for the International Oyster Cup.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – One professional bass fisherman from Panama City was featured on the cover Bassmaster Magazine this week. Drew Benton is in his sixth year on the Bassmaster Elite Series and was named the 2016 Rookie of the Year.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Local businesses partnered up for the first Shrimp and Grits Fest in Panama City. Residents came out to support local charities while sampling different shrimp and grits dishes. Multiple businesses came together with their own spin on the southern recipe and attendees said they’re happy to be getting back to some normalcy.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – On Saturday, Bay Arts Alliance hosted its first Florida Luxe Arts Festival or “FLLuxe” for short. The free event welcomed families and friends to check out chalk artwork covering the sidewalks in Downtown Panama City. Huge 3D anamorphic murals done by award-winning artists were on display.

PANAMA CITY — The Bay Arts Alliance mural program continues to colorize downtown buildings, as the first of eight artists began work on the district’s “Welcome Wall” this week. Four as-yet-unnamed artists will collaborate with Christon Anderson, Heather Clements, Joyful Enriquez and Jayson Kretzer on this mural project, which is going on the side of Ocean Oriental Market facing the intersection of sixth Street and Harrison Avenue.

PANAMA CITY Fla. (WMBB) — Today the House of Henry was covered in shamrocks and green as they held their first St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Customers started the day at six a.m. with kegs and eggs, and the festivities just kept coming. People could enjoy the music from the bagpipes, watch Irish dancing, ax throwing and of course drink green beer.
