Panama City Awarded Grants to Promote City’s Unique Experiences
Panama City, FL – July 10, 2018 – Destination Panama City, the official marketing organization for the City of Panama City, has been awarded two grants by Visit Florida. These grants were awarded to assist in advertising and marketing efforts of the One Harrison Food + Wine Festival and the Panama City Oyster Trail.
Destination Panama City has been awarded a $2,500 advertising matching grant for the One Harrison Food + Wine Festival. This fun and flavorful event will take place over two days, November 2-3, in Historic Downtown Panama City. The event features live music, food, wine, craft beers, cocktails, chef demos, art and retail.
The destination has also been awarded a $5,000 cultural, heritage, rural and nature marketing grant to promote the Panama City Oyster Trail. The Oyster Trail was launched in 2017 to connect visitors to Panama City oyster purveyors, raw bars and restaurants, and to celebrate and support the watermen who harvest wild oysters, a generations-old sustainable industry and an engrained cultural treasure in the region.
“These grants will help our mission to tell the story of our culture within our historic districts throughout the city and positively impact the local economy by increasing tourism-related spending within the community,” says Jennifer Vigil, Destination Panama City President and CEO. “We’re happy that Visit Florida has chosen to support the exciting experiences that Panama City has to offer.”
