Panama City Celebrates Spooky Season with Art, Immersive Experiences, and History

Panama City, FL: August 15, 2025 — This October, Downtown Panama City will transform into a hub for eerie art, haunted history, and interactive thrills as the Bay Arts Alliance presents a lineup of events for spooky season. From an imaginative art exhibition inspired by Frankenstein to an immersive laboratory experience and guided haunted walking tours, visitors can enjoy a variety of ways to celebrate Halloween in Florida’s sunshine-filled setting.

The season kicks off with the Art of Frankenstein Exhibition at the Center for the Arts, opening Friday, October 3 from 5–7 p.m. This show invites artists from across the region to submit works in any medium — including painting, sculpture, photography, and digital art — inspired by Mary Shelley’s iconic creation, Frankenstein. The exhibition encourages broad interpretation, from classic monster depictions to abstract concepts, offering a unique mix of creativity and fright. Opening night coincides with the Fright Nights Art Market that weekend, where guests can browse local artisan goods, enjoy themed activities, and embrace the Halloween spirit.

For those who want to step inside the story, the Frankenstein’s Laboratory: An Immersive Experience at the Center for the Arts invites visitors to explore Dr. Frankenstein’s mysterious workspace. Guests will meet the infamous scientist, encounter his legendary creation, and experience the sights and sounds of a reimagined laboratory setting, making for a memorable seasonal outing.

History enthusiasts can add a chilling twist to their evening with the Haunted Walking Tour through Downtown Panama City. Guided by local storytellers, the tour reveals tales of ghostly sightings, unsolved murders, unusual past uses of familiar buildings, and historic events that still echo through the streets today.
