Date: Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 5PM

Location: Sun Harbor Marina, 5505 Sun Harbor Road, Panama City, FL 32401

Admission: Free and open to the public

As guests meander through the marina at their own pace, they’ll have the unique opportunity to engage with boat owners and learn about the vessels, their operations, and the maritime lifestyle. The casual, self-guided format of the dock walk allows for a relaxed, immersive experience that celebrates Panama City’s rich boating culture and waterfront heritage. To enhance the festive atmosphere, participating boats will be decorated with holiday lights, creating a magical, illuminated experience for all attendees.

“We’re excited to invite the community to explore the newly rebuilt Sun Harbor Marina and see all that’s on the horizon,” said Jason Lent, Director of Sun Harbor Marina. “With the marina’s revitalized facilities and the anticipated opening of our on-site restaurant this spring, this event offers a great sneak peek of what’s to come.”

The event is part of a larger effort to create memorable community experiences that highlight Panama City’s unique waterfront offerings. With the restaurant’s anticipated opening just a few months away, the “Harbor of Lights” provides a glimpse into what the newly enhanced marina will bring to the area’s dining, leisure, and tourism landscape.

“The Harbor of Lights is about more than just boats — it’s about connection,” said Jennifer Vigil, President & CEO of Destination Panama City. “It’s an opportunity for locals and visitors to slow down, soak in the scenery, and have conversations with the people who bring our waterfront to life. We’re hoping to make this an annual tradition that becomes a must-experience event for our community.”

Attendees can expect a laid-back atmosphere where they’re free to walk the docks at their own pace, talk with boat captains and crews, and take in the waterfront views of the newly rebuilt Sun Harbor Marina. With the addition of an on-site restaurant scheduled to open this spring, this event provides a special opportunity for the public to experience the space before its grand opening. Participating boats will receive free overnight slippage for the night of the event, offering added convenience for boat owners and encouraging participation.
