Panama City, FL – March 19, 2019 – Panama City, Florida, which has long been a haven for artists and creative thinkers, has approved a measure to allow public murals to be created around the city. Through the efforts of the official marketing organization for the city of Panama City, Destination Panama City, a mural committee and plan to deploy murals has been formed.

“By adding these murals to our city’s landscape, we are making our communities more walkable and welcoming,” says Jennifer Vigil, Destination Panama City president and CEO. “Panama City has always been an artists community and we believe this initiative will inspire more members of our community to contribute to our local public art.”

Brad Stephens, Jayson Kretzer and Clay Keels have been approved as the inaugural Mural Committee members. All murals must be approved by the committee through a mural application. Applications will be evaluated based on the artist’s ability, the intent of the mural, any significance to the city, the artwork’s durability, accessibility to the public and required maintenance.
