PANAMA CITY Fla. (WMBB) — Grab your maps and looking-glasses because The City of Panama City is holding a virtual scavenger hunt. All week long residents can complete tasks by taking pictures around the city and sending them into the Quality of Life Department at the end of the week for a prize.

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — In a time of continued economic hardship and uncertainty, Panhandle residents have a chance to give back for the holiday season at Papa Joe’s Bayside. The location will work together with the Toys for Kids Foundation to hold a toy drive, starting at 2:30 p.m. on November 21, which will benefit needy children in Bay County.
PANAMA CITY — Tijuana Flats is back in franchising for the first time in 13 years and has awarded its first franchise territory to Bob Amin in Panama City, Florida. Amin has years of experience running franchise restaurants and is excited to add Tijuana Flats to his portfolio. “This is a great opportunity for me,” said Amin. “I’ve had my eye on Tijuana Flats for a long time and I was so pleased to hear they were returning to franchising and chose me as their first franchisee.”
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Bay County leaders and residents will honor veterans with the annual Veterans Day Parade, starting at 9 a.m. and featuring a new route for this year. John Deegins, Director of Veterans Services, said the parade starts at 9 a.m., and the route will begin at the intersection of 12th Street and Beck Avenue in St. Andrews, then continue south before turning east onto 11th Street.
PANAMA CITY — The Light Room is currently showing the work of two artistic photographers for an exhibit that will run through the end of December. “Photographs by Andrew Wardlow and Mark Messerly” opened Nov. 6 at The Light Room, 306 Harrison Ave., Panama City, pairing two local photographers who enjoy working with challenging photographic processes uncommon in our digital world.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)– For two nights each November, the unique streets of Panama City comes alive with light, sound, art and fun. “Our goal is to share art in unusual places. So we’re in an unusual place like the mall sharing art with our community,” said event co-organizer, Margaret Webster.

Messiness — juicy beef patties, golden buttery buns, gooey cheese sauces, savory seasonings — is the main thing on the menu. The restaurant’s co-owner, Jerry Pipkins, said it’s all a part of delivering a burger experience like none other.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Songwriters from across the United States will come to Panama City to celebrate their love for music alongside the community in the Panama City Songwriter’s Festival. The festival will be held November 6-7, starting at 4:30 p.m. Friday and 3:15 p.m. Saturday across stages at the Center for the Arts, Millie’s and 131 Trigo.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)– Hundreds of trick-or-treaters lined the streets for Halloween on Harrison this year, dressed in costumes hoping to get candy. With the pandemic still in place, Halloween was an event that was up in the air this year, but residents said they’re happy it’s happening. Even if it looks a little different this year.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)– In the Glenwood area on Saturday afternoon, the city of Panama City and Minority P.C. teamed up to host the city’s first-ever Afro market. The event was held on the corner of 14th MLK Boulevard, from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. The event was aimed at giving black business owners the platform to sell their handmade goods.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) — Harrison Avenue will transform into a Halloween Hangout for October 31, as part of the City of Panama City and Downtown Improvement Board’s Halloween on Harrison event. The event will shut down Harrison from 6th Street to Oak Avenue, from 4-6 p.m., for a trunk-or-treat and other family-friendly events, including pumpkin painting, obstacle course, haunted house and live music.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)–Up until 2.5 years ago, skateboarding was illegal in Downtown Panama City. Now, skaters have a brand new skate spot. The new spot is 4,400 square feet and it’s located on the corner of Jenks Avenue and West 6th Street. It offers a quarter pipe and multiple banks that will allow riders to move around the park without pushing. There’s also stairs and rails.
PANAMA CITY Fla. (WMBB) — The Bay Arts Alliance was looking forward to having an arts festival this past March, but when COVID-19 took precedence, they starting asking local artists for their help elsewhere. But they have found a way to make the downtown area come back to life. Before Hurricane Michael, downtown Panama City was known as the arts district.
PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB)– Saturday, area residents gathered at Mckenzie Park for the second annual Survivor’s Jam. The event is meant to bring the community out to celebrate the strength and resilience the community possessed to rebuild after Hurricane Michael.
