Destination Panama City Celebrates National Travel & Tourism Week with Community Cookout
Panama City, FL – May 5, 2025 – Destination Panama City is inviting the community to come together for an afternoon of food, fun, and gratitude in celebration of National Travel & Tourism Week on Monday, May 5, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This year’s celebration will be hosted outdoors at the Hotel Indigo and Harrison’s Kitchen & Bar green space, just steps away from the Destination Panama City Visitor Center.
In honor of its 10th year, Destination Panama City is serving up free burgers, hotdogs, fries, and soft drinks to thank the local citizens and tourism partners who make the city shine. Guests will also enjoy live music by local favorite Janelle Frost, creating the perfect backdrop to kick off the week.
While on-site registration for meals will be available, guests are encouraged to pre-register for a free ticket via Eventbrite to help minimize wait times and streamline the check-in process.
“Community is the cornerstone to successful and sustainable tourism,” said Jennifer Vigil, President & CEO of Destination Panama City. “As we celebrate a decade of Destination Panama City’s impact, we recognize that it’s the people—our incredible tourism partners and the welcoming spirit of our residents—that make Panama City more than a destination. They are hands down the best destination ambassadors around.”
Since its inception, Destination Panama City has championed tourism as a vital economic engine, contributing to the city’s growth, small business success, and continued revitalization efforts. National Travel & Tourism Week serves as a moment to recognize the people behind the industry and celebrate the power of tourism to bring communities together.
